Celebrating 20 Years of Hard Hat
DIY your day for homeless youth!
Choose your own community fundraiser in support of homeless youth
Having a place to call home is a basic human right,
but tens of thousands of young Aussies will go without a bed tonight.
It’s Free!
Hard Hat is completely free for participants and a wonderful way to unite your community in a common goal – building safe, secure and welcoming homes for marginalised and at-risk young people. Help us celebrate 20 years of Hard Hat fundraising!
It’s Your Event!
With Hard Hat, it's your call how you raise funds. On-site, in the office, or online, get ready to show off your organisation’s individual style and flair. From bake-offs for beds, to raffles for rebuilding lives – your activities can take place on a single day, week, month, or even an entire year.
Uniting Our Community!
Fly the flag for kids in need. Hard Hat Day culminates on Friday 25 August 2023, where construction sites across Australia hang our bright orange Property Industry Foundation flags on cranes across their sites.

“ Our staff members at the Dennis Family Corporation have once again defied the many obstacles presented by the ongoing Coronavirus situation this year to raise almost $4,500 through voluntary donations from their pay in June towards PIF’s annual Hard Hat campaign. The passion and generosity shown by our people for this cause remains as strong as ever after more than a decade of support.”

“ This year (2020) has presented many challenges for all, however, they didn’t want COVID and the lockdown to prevent them from raising funds and taking part in this great initiative. ANZ connected their staff while keeping their cause-related focus alive through their recent virtual morning tea for Hard Hat to raise funds to help build homes for homeless youth.”

“ Kane Construction hosted a Hard Hat Breakfast at their office in Albion on 16 October 2020, to take some time out as a team to raise funds to build PIF homes for homeless youth. The Kane team and supporters raised over $2000 for the Property Industry Foundation, via the sale of raffle tickets and donations.”

DFC raised an impressive $13,000 through Hard Hat in 2022, with contributions from personal staff pay donations and morning teas across their Melbourne metropolitan and regional locations. This makes a grand total of 250K in donations over many years of HH support!“ It was great to see so many faces in person and via Zoom across our many locations being involved in such a great cause. We look forward to our continued successful association with the Property Industry Foundation, supporting its initiatives and fundraising activities.”

Mirvac construction sites across the country joined in Hard Hat Day barbecues and afternoon teas in 2022, raising an incredible $38,797 for homeless youth.“ Our Construction teams hosted Hard Hat Day barbecues across multiple sites, raising over $30,000. In addition, we held afternoon teas in each state Head Office in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. Mirvac matched the donations made by staff, so an additional $5,617 was donated. As a leading property developer, we know we have a role to play in raising awareness of youth homelessness and in being part of the solution. Which is why we proudly support the Foundation in this worthy cause.”

In 2022, Chalouhi ran their second year of the Golden Bucket raffle – named after the yellow earth mover’s often seen on site! With amazing prizes on offer – from watches to PlayStation consoles - their raffle was another huge success.“ The Chalouhi Golden Bucket was a big hit across our industry, raising awareness and funds towards more bedrooms. Thank you to everyone that participated. Your support helped us raise over $10,000 in funds to go towards Haven House projects in NSW.”
